Dr Ryan Xavier

Ryan graduated from the University of Otago With a bachelors degree in dental surgery.

He was born and raised in Botswana for six years, before moving to Auckland and is ethnically Indian. Ryan has previously worked in Te Anau and Timaru and now enjoys working in Christchurch to be closer to his family.

Ryan focusses on a tailor-made experience to help dentally anxious patients, taking time to address any personal concerns, and ensuring that a visit to the dentist becomes less daunting.

Apart from dentistry, Ryan loves a good game of Bridge, venturing into the outdoors to hike, camp and fish.

Dr Kate Gidlow-Black

Kate grew up in Christchurch, and graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery and a Bachelor of Biomedical Science. After practicing dentistry in rural NZ for the last few years, she has decided to move back to her hometown and settle down with her husband.

Kate enjoys all aspects of general dentistry especially making sure anxious patients feel relaxed and comfortable. She firmly believes that prevention is better than cure and loves to see her patients regain their confidence in smiling.

She loves coffee and in her free time you will often see her at a local cafe. Outside of work she enjoys painting, paper mache, bridge, and spending time with her husband and cat, Florence.

Dr Sheng Chun Yang

Sheng graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Honours degree. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Southern California. Born in Taipei, Taiwan, he has lived in Malaysia, the United States of America, and now New Zealand. He is fluent in Mandarin and English.

Sheng understands the anxiety that can accompany a trip to the dentist and endeavors to deliver a stress-free and comfortable environment for his patients. While he enjoys all aspects of dentistry, Sheng’s fields of interest include endodontics, oral surgery, and fixed prosthodontics. He also firmly believes in prevention and focuses on providing the best available oral health advice for his patients to maintain a fabulous smile.

Outside of dentistry, Sheng is an avid golfer, video gamer, and tennis player. He enjoys traveling with his wife to different countries to experience the local culture and cuisine. He loves various varieties of tea and would like to expand his collection to try teas from all over the world.
